What is Halley's comet?
Question asked by: mrquestion
Asked on: 03 Feb 2010
This is one of the most famous comets.
Standardly people will only see it once in their lifetime, if indeed at all.
Halley's comet is famous because it is quite bright and so can be seen with the naked eye.
It is one of the first comets to be tracked and its route and how long it took to return to earth etc has been known for many a long time.
It appears in the night sky I think it is every 76 years. This is known as the period of the comet.
