What is happening to temperature while ice is melting to become water. Explain
Question asked by: appuswathi

The ice is gaining in energy to become liquid water, whilst the environment loses that amount of energy to make the ice become water.
So there is a transfer of energy from the environment to the ice which means that the temperature around the ice reduces very slightly in order to ensure that there is no net loss of energy overall.
