What is karma?
Question asked by: knowitall

This is basically the moral law of cause and effect.
It is associated with eastern religions though has become quite trendy in the west.
The basic idea is that you get what you give, if you do good things then good happens to you, if you do bad things then it comes back to haunt you in the end.
These are popular ideas but they have no basis in fact when these matters are studied objectively - lots of evil people don't have bad things happen and some terrible things happen in life routinely to people who are really good and only do the best they can for other people.
