What is longitude and latitude?
Question asked by: knowitall
Latitude and longitude are a co-ordinates system that humans have implemented to map the world, and help us define regions and areas and add organisation to the large planet that we live on.
Latitude gives the location of a place dependent on how north or south of the equator it is.
In contrast, longitude is a measure of the distance east or west of the prime meridian of any point on earth.
