What is networking?

Networking is the process of meeting people in a business context in order to either build contacts or directly try to get business.
This can happen accidentally as in when you meet new suppliers and new people at work for instance, or alternatively it could happen if you go to actual networking meetings, perhaps to introduce your company to others and in order to find out more about other companies too.
