What is project management?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 22 Dec 2009

Project management is the process of running a project.

If that doesn't sound too circular a definition!

Basically when there is a task that needs to be achieved, project management is working out in a structured way what needs to be done, and then executing the plan.

The idea is that by having such a structured approach there are set and standardised ways of dealing with issues, documenting what happens and working to a set structure helps make it an ordered project with each person knowing what they are doing and helping it to run smoothly and increase its overall chances of success.
