What is teleology?
Question asked by: knowitall
The root of the word is as follows:
Greek telos, "end"; logos, "discourse".
This seldom used word outside the domain of philosophy refers to the doctrine that tries to explain the universe in terms of ends or final causes.
Hence the key idea behind any teleological theory is that the universe has design and purpose.
