What is the best digital SLR camera?

Digital Slr Cameras have come down in price quite a bit since this question was first answered. In fact you can get some for around £250. Google shopping is a good place to compare prices, as well as the usual suspects (Comet, Currys, Amazon, etc.). I bought the NIKON D3100 for just under £400. I bought it because it was really easy to use and was not as complicated as other, more advanced SLR Cameras, which along with the price made it a good purchase. My neighbour has a EOS and his pictures look really professional, I it is around £400 too.
