What is the cause of my OCD is it known what causes it?

I am not sure if it is known what causes OCD.
I would suspect with something quite complicated and mental like that there are a range of causes perhaps stress and so on.
Overall it is said that it is caused by wanting control over some area of your life so perhaps it is because you are really into controlling the situation and world around you or simply there are other areas of your life where you feel you don't have control so this is a way of being in control.
