What is the chemical formula of ferric alum?

Question asked by: knowitall

Good question! I think that there are different formulations and ways of making ferric alum so I'm not entirely sure the answer that I have worked out is what you will be after.

That said this should provide a good starting point for your research but worth checking out with other online resources and see if they agree (e.g. search google for the formula)

Here's my best guess on this one:

Fe2(NH4)(SO4)4H20
