What is the earth made of?

Question asked by: knowitall

The earth is made of several layers, each with distinct types of material and conditions present.

At the centre is the core, of nickel and iron.

Outside that the mantle, of dense rock like silicon and iron.

Then there is the outer crust then the crust, which is mainly oxygen and aluminium, as well as a covering of liquid water and gases like nitrogen and oxygen in the atmosphere.
