What is the least number of givens for a valid sudoku puzzle?
Question asked by: mrquestion

The lowest number that has been found to the best of my knowledge is 17.
I am not certain if this has been proved beyond doubt - I have just seen links to some posts on other sites that suggest that this is indeed the theoretical minimum, but certainly if there is a sudoku with less givens than this it has not been found yet.
