What is the longest waterway in Canada?

The longest inland waterway in Canada - that's a good one indeed. Not many people know the answer so whoever asked the question in geography was pretty mean!
The answer is of course that the longest inland waterway is that which stretches from the Gulf of St Lawrence to Lake Superior - as you will know, that's some 3700km!!!
