What is the loss of water by evaporation throught the aerial parts of a plant?

This process is known as transpiration in the plant.
Note that this is different completely to things like photosynthesis and respiration which are other chemical processes that occur due to the makeup of the plant; transpiration is more of a natural process as it were.
