What is the most popular puzzle in Japan?

It seems to depend on where you look for the answer.
Whilst most would have you believe sudoku is the answer, it seems to be the case that actually kakuro holds the position as most popular puzzle there (in stark contrast to the West where kakuro is indeed popular but much less so than sudoku is).
