What is the official language of the United States?
Question asked by: knowitall
The official language of the United States is the English language.
However many languages are spoken in the US most notably more and more people are speaking dialects of Spanish so it is possible this will become a joint language.
Note that whilst Americans have changed many English words for instance the spelling, and added many of their own, the language is still English and not American.
