What is the speed of light?
Question asked by: mrquestion

The speed of light = 299 792 458 m / s
If you literally type in speed of light into google then that is what you get.
As you can see it is a very high number indeed.
Which is good news for us given that we live on a planet that is quite small so information can be relied around the world at speeds which appear instantaneous to us. If everything travelled at the speed of sound then things like international phone calls and satellite broadcasts would not be very practical!
