What is Venus like?
Question asked by: knowitall
Venus is not a nice place. It is close to the sun, and has a orbit of 225 days.
It is of similar size to earth but there is not much similar in reality between the two planets.
It is thought that it rotates so slowly - a day lasts 243 earth days - due to some past collision that made Venus become real that almost cancelled each other out, as it were.
It has no moon and so is like Mercury and different to all the other planets.
It has thick clouds, sulphuric acid ones, and a run away green house effect with massive levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
The surface temperature is extreme and the pressure truly crushing. It would be hell on earth.
