What makes an application do well on facebook?

An application does well on facebook if it manages to get lots of people following it.

There can be several reasons for this, it could be that it is catchy and captures the imagination.

Or there could be a supporting marketing campaign.

Also these things can be viral whereby enough people recommend it to their friends and it suddenly goes up from there.

If you have 100 friends and 10% take it up and so on and so on then you soon get loads and loads of people with the application!
