What relation to Elizabeth I was Mary Queen of Scots?

Question asked by: knowitall

The relation is that the two of them were cousins.

However despite this fact, relations between the two at many times were anything like the friendly relationship one might expect among cousins and rather quite tense and terse instead.

Indeed there are many books out there that have been written purely on the relationship between Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scots!
