What role did the river system in the past as well as the present in the develepment of north america

Question asked by: luci4436

Asked on: 23 Sep 2008

Rivers have always been essential for trading because we have used boats and ships for much longer than the road and longer still than we have used the air for quick transport.

Therefore trade routes were essential and towns and groups of people tended to be clustered around bodies of water.
