What should you discuss on a blind date?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Discuss whatever comes to mind.

As with most dates it is good to prepare some questions to break the ice and then to restart conversation if there is a natural lull.

Hopefully things will start to flow automatically and you won't need these questions but it is good to have them to avoid awkward silences that could get painfully long.

Just ask questions about the person and what they do: their work, hobbies, favourite things to do, and all that sort of thing. They say that you should avoid potentially controversial topics such as politics and religion on a first date as if you don't see eye to eye on the whole left/right political spectrum for instance then it could lead to too much friction for a first date to handle!
