What state is surrounded by the most water?
Question asked by: knowitall
The state surrounded by the most water is actually Alaska.
This has some 236,507 square kilometres of water around it, in other words it is 13.77% water.
Thus Alaska has the most water around it - in fact double the next closest state which is Michigan, followed by Florida, Wisconsin and finally Louisiana.
The smallest water area is West Virginia right down the bottom of the table.
