What TV production companies are there?

There are thousands of television production companies in the UK alone.
This is largely because there are many quite small independent production companies but many get commissioned by the BBC or are owned by presenters as they set up their own production company in order to get more of the profits from their ventures.
There are directories out there on media websites that give a list of production companies per country so if you want to contact them they are relatively simple to find in this internet age.
