What was the general reaction to the Brown v. Board of Education?

Hmm... when asking history questions it would be useful to give some more background.
For instance, which country are you talking about?
There have been cases against boards of education in tens of countries around the world and the name Brown is not that familiar.
So this could refer to lots of different countries, you need to give context to get good answers on history questions and be more specific.
