When was the Thermometer Invented?
Question asked by: knowitall
The invention of the thermometer - good question, as its' invention was rather a co-operative affair!
The first one that is known to have been used was that of the scientist, Santorio Santorio (unimaginative parents, perhaps?)
He lived from 1561 - 1636.
It is not known exactly when, but it is thought that by 1612 at least he had a device to measure temperature.
