Where do alleles come from?

Question asked by: knowitall

Well alleles are created by the processes that occur naturally in the human body and are a product of our DNA and the chemical reactions they control and demand in the cell.

If you mean how do we receive our original alleles, which I suspect you do, the answer is that half of your alleles come from each of your parents - half from your mother and half from your father.
