Who invented the crossword puzzle?
Asked on: 14 Aug 2009

The general consensus is that Arthur Wynne invented the crossword puzzle.
There had been a range of word puzzles around for a long time such as the word ladder, so it is hard to give this is a definitive answer as the genesis of the idea may have come previously, but this is the general consensus it would seem from research. He was from Liverpool.
