Who is J K Rowling?

She is one of the most famous women in the world and probably now the most famous author in the world.
It is interesting to ponder whether this will continue into the future and if in the future people will read the Harry Potter novels in the way that people still read Shakespeare and so on, or whether it is a passing and fleeting phenomenon that will fade away once the final movie is made and people move onto pastures new, or will it be a childrens classic a la Enid Blyton for years to come?
