Who is more valuable to society scientists or celebrities?

In the long term there can be no doubt that the answer is scientists.
Just look what they have contributed to the planet. If it were not for scientists then celebrities would never have emerged in the way they have as it is due to technology broadcasting them all in to our homes and their music and films that we know who they all are.
So ironically science has made it possible for celebrity to overtake them in the way it has, where once the learned were the revered ones now it's the celebrities.
Of course science, if it leads to our destruction through the misuse of nuclear technology, may be seen on a holistic view of human society as the worst thing has has happened.
