Paula Abdul was a singer in the 1980s and was quite a successful artist. She had quite a distinguished musical career with good chart success.
In recent years she came back into the public eye due to being on American Idol as the nicey nicey judge that was generally pleasant to all the contestants, though she was recently replaced by Kara Dioguardi.
