Who is the most famous biologist?

Not sure there is a most famous biologist.
For one thing until quite recently biology did not split off as a separate science and there were the physical sciences in general, and before that (surprisingly recently infact) everyone was just under the generic title of Philosopher, whereas now it is purely the reserve of those who think about the 'deep' questions men of science were known as philosophers right up to the 19th century.
