Who is the most famous writer?

The most famous writer is probably William Shakespeare. if you ask people for a famous author then this is probably the first name that would come off their lips at least in terms of historically, another famous one is of course Dickens.
There have been many great authors over the years of course and some brilliant novelists from many differnet countries but there is little doubt that shakespeare would top most lists.
