Who started the english language
Question asked by: welsh_babe

There is no definite answer as in terms of a certain person called Joseph Bloggs invented english.
Rather it is the product of language that has been spoken that is a rather human phenomenon and interesting. The roots of many words are Latin and of course it has a lot of influence from things like French as well, and of course other cultures and influences but mainly words have Latin etymology and sometimes Greek and other languages too.
It is just something that evolved over time so there is no answer, and then American English has slowly branched off as they've created changes to the English language too and in this way languages evolve like living things almost in a way.
