Who was Sam Lloyd?

Sam Lloyd is a famous name in the world of puzzles, and created lots of original and interesting puzzles in America. I'm not entirely sure when but I think it might have been around the start of the 20th century. There will undoubtedly be lots more information about him on a site like wikipedia!
