Why all the fruits have round or ovel shape
Question asked by: harshita
Asked on: 14 Sep 2010
Fruits develop from ovaries when pollen tubes unite with the egg. This union creates a single cell with both parents genetic information. When the cell grows and expands, it is not limited spatially, and multiplies (for the most part) in any direction, it happens to go. This, combined with the pressure behind the fruit skin, create rounded shape.
