Why do banks take several days to process transfers?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 31 Mar 2008

A small part is for no doubt to do with processing times and it does take time to process cheques and so forth.

The main reason most suspect is so that the bank makes money in the process by storing huge sums for a couple of days before releasing them on.
