Why do less qualified people get better jobs than me?

It can be frustrating when you don't get the recognition that you think your career deserves.
It is difficult to know what to say, except to remind you that this happens to many people and most don't feel they get the recognition that they feel they deserve in their career.
What you should do is ask specific questions of your boss as to why you aren't progressing and what you can take - what tangible and real steps you can take - to do better.
If they can't offer any then think about moving as it is the company at fault.
If they give you valid feedback then work on those points and move forward.
Too many will talk about vague concepts and vague things you can do to improve, which is just not good enough.
