Why do they always use chat up lines in movies?

Chat up lines are used in movies because they are not real life so it doesn't matter that they don't work in real life.
The other reason is that they are quite funny and cringeworthy therefore they create some good laughs or moments where you want to hide behind the sofa seeing what lines are being used, and also it lets the scriptwriters get their characters to use lines that they never would in real life!
