Why do we prefer white cotton clothes in winter while dark woolen cloths in winter ?
Question asked by: azmath

This is to do with keeping us cool or keeping us warm.
Generally dark colours will make you feel warmer whilst white will make you feel cooler.
This is because white reflects all light and black absorbs it all, therefore black gets warmer as it takes in the heat from the light which generally comes from the sun whilst the white reflects it therefore the energy from the light rays is not transferred to your body and therefore you do not warm up in the same way.
