Why do we use climate to define a region?
Question asked by: knowitall
Climate is useful because it helps us understand the characteristics of a region and predict what it will look like and how conducive to life it is.
As humans we like to interpret, understand and record the environment and world we live in, and its phenomenology.
Climate is a useful way to track the world as it is now and work out how it was in the past, and can give clues and indicators to major causes and effects in the world around us, and thus help us interpret where we live.
