Why don't circuses exist anymore?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 09 Apr 2008

Circuses are less popular these days with people as there is so much entertainment on TV and in other venues that the requirements to be entertained by the circus are less and less.

Also there are less due to the fact that it is hard to get people to turn up which means less people join or stay with the circus and in other words a viscious circle is created.

Many people are also not so interested in some of the traditional circus elements and for instance animal shows in some countries are not at all appreciated any more.
