Why is it difficult to receive a radio signal in a moving train

Question asked by: manodev

Asked on: 29 Jul 2009

It is not so much that the train is moving as that the train often has a strong metal container and is quite insulated from the outside world, therefore it can be hard for the radio signal to penetrate through the train just like when you go into a tunnel often the radio signal goes.

Of course a moving train can make it harder as you move from areas of good reception to bad reception, but fundamentally it is the fact that you are in the train that causes the real issues.
