Why isn't modelling illegal because it discriminates on the basis of appearance?
Question asked by: knowitall
This is an interesting question!
With all the laws in the Western world around the lines of discrimination it must be a special case as physical appearance is not allowed to affect how you recruit for the majority of jobs.
If anyone has any other ideas on this I'd be interested to hear too.
Perhaps you don't state on the application form that you will discriminate on the basis of looks and measurements but then you do it every time? Or perhaps it is a special case because of course that's the whole point of being a model!
