Will modelling talent directories get me work?

A modelling talent directory sounds like a great way of getting in front of agencies.
Essentially a company will produce a directory of pen pics of lots of aspiring models and circulate to the major agencies.
However most agencies say they don't spend much time looking at these directories as they tend to want to find models themselves either through scouting or those that approach them directly.
Therefore be wary of shelling out to be a modelling talent directory as it is quite likely that no work will come from it.
