You are falling off the edge.what should you do to avoid falling?

If you are falling off the edge, then you should take steps to avoid falling off.
Since the whole things with equilibrium is that what happens on one side will affect the other side, then you should take the reverse action to what you want to happen on the other side - think of a seesaw, as one side goes up the other goes down, so to stop falling off move away from the edge.
