It's a common idea that you are what you eat... well if you think about it, this is either obvious or false.
Obvious, if you interpret it as the fact that the atoms you put into your body either stay in your body or leave your body, and patently false if you take it to mean that if you eat an apple you become an apple, or if you eat a fish you become a fish.
What has this got to do with Christmas weight loss?
Well, it's not so much about the individual things you eat as the amounts you eat and the combinations. So just focussing on one food group is a bad idea.
Science actually doesn't really know for sure what the long term effects of each food type is. This means that really the best strategy is to have moderation in all things. Don't eat too much, but ensure you aren't hungry. Plenty of fruit and veg, but try to get a balance of everything in your diet.
This combined with tip 1 and a bit of commitment is all most people need to lose those Christmas pounds of weight!
