My parents are really embarrassing - my Mum thinks she's young and cool but my friends laugh at her. Help!

Oh dear! This can indeed be embarrassing - lots of parents and particularly Mums like to think that they are still young and join in.

It could be they are taking a genuine interest and trying to be nice and friendly and do enjoy the same things as you and your friends.

But when you are growing up it can be embarrassing and might be the last thing you need, particularly if it is your Mum struggling to realise she has grown up and is older than you.

What you should do is have a quiet chat with her aside from your friends. Explain it's great that she is so interested and she really love her, but you would like it better if she left you and your friends to get on with it when they were around and that she acted a little bit more like an adult.

If you kindly and calmly explain your feelings on this then she is sure to respect them and back off a little bit and then you will have nothing to get embarrassed about anymore.
