My parents are really strict compared to my friends ones who let them do anything. Why are they so strict?

It is quite often the case that our friends pretend their parents are less strict than they are.

Or perhaps even the parents act nicer around you than they really are!

Even if your parents really are stricter, remember it is up to them how they bring up their own child within reason.

So if they are strict it shows they care about you and want the best for you and for you to grow up on the straight and narrow.

A strict upbringing is often the result too of the parents themselves having had a strict upbringing and it is the method they know.

They are sure to love you and care for you very much and want the best for you and you to have a great future, and so being strict and making sure to learn to live by rules is healthy for you and for the future of society.

Respect their wishes and act like an adult and you stand the best stead of both understanding their position and giving yourself the best chance of having the rules relaxed as soon as you show you have the maturity to set rules and boundaries for yourself.
