That's an interesting one, not heard that before!
Generally it can be quite difficult to tell if someone really loves you or not depending on what sort of character they are.
If they refuse to ever even say the words then the chances are that they don't of course.
But if they do say it then they could feel pressured into it.
So I suppose that looking into their eyes and seeing if you think they really mean it when they say it is a good idea, but if they are a good actor or actress then even that might not be enough.
Ultimately with love you just have to trust the other person as scary as that can be sometimes.
